Is it Time to Fire your MLM Upline?
The sad truth is, anybody with a computer can work from the comfort of their own kitchen table, wearing their pajamas and fuzzy slippers while blasting their referral links out all over cyberspace until eventually one happens to find it's way to your computer screen.
The opportunity sounds amazing! The downline matrix shows how much money you will be making once it fills out. The decision is an easy one! Let me at that signup form!
Well, unless you're a master marketer, you've probably noticed that you downline is not growing quite as rapidly as you had expected, if at all. Meanwhile you've had to push back your proposed retirement date a decade or two, luckily you haven't mailed invitations to your retirement party so only you'll know that your plans are falling apart.
So, what went wrong?
The chances are good that you didn't know how to drive traffic. Afterall, it doesn't matter how good your product, service or sales page is if you aren't able to put it in front of prospects. The chances are good that your upline guy doesn't really know either or if he does, he's obviously not sharing this information with you.
So you're pretty much sweet talked into getting in the rubber raft then set adrift in the sea of MLM lost dreams to lazily meander whichever way the current is moving. Let me tell you, this is not a recipe for success, for you or for your upline guy.
Maybe it's time to fire him or her. You wouldn't get up and keep going to work in any other job where you weren't getting paid. You wouldn't want to work in any other enviroment where your supervisor didn't teach you how to do your job or even better yet, show you how to do your job well enough that you could rise up within company ranks. So why should your MLM business be any different? It shouldn't!
MLM opportunities continue to exist because they do work. The truth is that only a small number of people actually achieve true success. They mainly do this through a "slinging spaghetti against the wall" approach. The more they sling, the more that will stick. Unfortunately for you, if your not a sticky piece of pasta, you will probably end up on the floor with all the other unsticky pieces of pasta.
But alas, there are MLMpreneurs who take a different approach and that is to personally cultivate each member. This special group of people know that by helping others to succeed, they are helping themselves succeed as well. Yes, it takes more effort on that persons part than slinging pasta but the payoff can far outweigh the extra work required. Especially if you join under someone who has a forum based support system so that it is not only themselves, but everybody in their downline, and their downlines downline, and so on until a community is built with the sole purpose of taking newcomers by the hand and walking them through, step by step, until they are able to run by themselves and then share their own knowledge and experience with others as they enter.
So, before taking the plunge and joining any MLM opportunity, take some precautionary measures to insure you are signing under someone who will care about your success, someone with knowledge and who is willing to share that knowledge with you. Send them a few emails before hand and ask them about their marketing methods and experience. Be direct and ask about their MLM successes and how they will help you become successful, find out what tools they provide to help you grow your business. Do this with a number of promoters and go with someone you feel will be there to help you succeed.
In conclusion, it is your future at stake, it is up to you to use due diligence. Signing up with the right opportunity under the right person can make decades of a difference in your long term goals.
