Silicone Swim Cap
My daughter has recently been losing her Swim Cap in races, especially during distances?
Why is this happening? She has recently gone to wearing a latex cap and then a silicone over that. She prefers to use silicone.
I'm not sure, but I would go along with the others about air being in the cap. I'm a guy with shorter hair so it's never really been a problem with me. It's my guess that wetting the hair first would be best. Make sure her hair is pulled tight against the scalp where the cap will sit.
It's mostly a joking thing we did at meets, but it this might help: turn the cap inside out and fill it with water. Hold it over her head and drop it. The longer the drop the better (within reason, or course), but it will be less accurate. Water and gravity will flip the cap right-side out on her head... it's actually fun too!
If that doesn't help... would she look ok with short hair?????
